I have wanted to start a blog for sometime now, but always found excuses to put it off. By participating in CTLS' "23 things" project, I was forced to put my excuses aside and get on with it.
Web 2.0 has opened a door for libraries to move into the 21st century in a fun and creative way. I am excited about learning new ways to introduce the library to the public, sharing information with others in the simplist way possible, and having fun in the process.
Anyone who has spent much time in Louisiana knows that the French word, lagniappe, means "a little something extra." Lagniappe is an unexpected gift such as a free book included with a vendor's catalog or a thirteenth cookie when you have ordered a dozen. This blog is intended to offer a little something extra to those people who enjoy our library or are interested in knowing more about it.
